LOVE my new dentures!

The thought of getting dentures was a very difficult decision, I was very scared of the process. After having the process done right before my son's wedding I couldn't believe I waited so long. Finally no more pain and I am proud of my smile! I know now that the pictures at the wedding will be great.
The help and support I have received from Healthy Smile has been great! I would encourage anyone debating on whether to get it done, do it now so you can start enjoying your smile for years to come!

My sleep-struggles are over!

I have been struggling with severe obstructive sleep apnea and its affects for over 6 years. I have had several sleep studies, tried over the counter & prescription medications, different sleeping positions, the tennis ball trick, the c-pap machine with several different masks and two different mouth guard appliances. None of them helped. The medications didn’t help treat the actual problem and have side effects, the c-pap machine was so uncomfortable I could not stand to keep it on and the mouth guards were bulky and wouldn’t stay in my mouth overnight. I struggled with weight gain, depression, high blood pressure and nodding off at my desk daily.
I continued to struggle through my days until talking with Dr. Ona during a visit in September 2012, I brought up a conversation that my family doctor and I had regarding the lack of options for those patients that have failed the c-pap device. Dr. Ona explained she had been working on a new product that might be able to help me and wondered if I would like to be the first to try it specifically for sleep apnea! I was excited, although still apprehensive.
The very first night I wore the shims II I slept with it in, through the night & woke up feeling rested! I could not believe it! I told myself I was crazy, that it was wishful thinking, anything to disregard the change but after a week I was sleeping through the night, staying awake all day at work, feeling rested & even able to enjoy some evenings after work.
I am so grateful to Dr. Ona & her team at Healthy Smile. I am on track to start getting control of my health again. I believe Shims II can and will help many people. I have enjoyed sharing my progress with Dr. Ona’s amazing team and anyone else who will listen!
